We have gone through 2 weeks of a vegan diet. We’ve loosely followed the gluten-free part. And my husband is more hard core than I am, he is doing awesome, especially being a big meat eater! I’m so proud of him!
I am still struggling with mindless eating mid-afternoon, mostly times when I’m giving the kids snacks or making their lunches and I just pick at food even though I’m not hungry! This was not a problem before, but maybe due to nursing, I have no will power?? Trying to be more aware!
We got sick of the meals in the book and picked out our own. I don’t recommend the book, my biggest “beef” is the lack of snacks, lack of protein (you won’t stay full) in his meals, and lack of dessert (1 oz dark chocolate a night is healthy!). It’s not a set up for success in my mind. I would recommend the Plan for testing out what’s good for your body and a better reasoning with the science behind meal combinations, or the Detoxinista’s Detox!
Monday – “Cheesesteaks” with veggies
Tuesday – quinoa mushroom burgers with peas
Wednesday – maybe walnut tacos? or I’ll use the walnuts for cookies (below)
Thursday – caesar salad
with pumpkin sage pasta (yum this was delicious!)
Friday – I’m still looking for one more idea! What are you making?
Saturday – Yay! Day 23 – we’re done, out to dinner to celebrate!
RECIPES I want to try this week:
Walnut cookies!
Peanut Butter “Lara” Bar
What are you making this week?
