Did you know that this Monday coming up, the Monday of the last full week in January, is known as Blue Monday? It is thought to be one of the most depressing days of the year, as credit card bills from the holidays start coming in, our regular routine is back after the holidays and New Years Resolutions are already starting to be forgotten. What do you think? With over a month left STILL in winter, I could see it being a tough day.
To stay motivated and keep positive, take your workout outdoors on Monday and any of your low days! Studies show that stress relief can happen faster in natural environments. Getting outside also helps concentration and productivity, and releases endorphins to boost your mood. If getting outside isn’t possible, hop on the treadmill or head to the gym. I also make it a goal to get the kids and myself outside for at least 15 minutes a day in this cold weather. It makes a huge difference for all of us!
