After doing the cooking class with the kids, one of the tips was to use dried beans, so instead of buying the cans (with BPA lining in many), I started buying dried beans.

It is a long process, of which I’ve found great step by step directions here:


but it seems worth it in the end!

At first, I was storing in glass containers, but I see that she recommends plastic gallon bags, and that works so much better!  Have you tried soaking dried beans? I think I have 12 cups of beans in the freezer!

Meal planning – week of January 8
Starting up the detox tomorrow! My meal plan is a little different from my recommended one but I’ll be jumping around trying to get the kids to eat some of the stuff that I’ll be making and eating.

Monday – Cauliflower rice and Hilary’s burgers. Quick dinner night with swimming!
Tuesday – Roasted Brussel Sprouts maybe with Tempeh? I am afraid of tofu because of how much soy I consumed during college and the ratings that it receives. Do you eat soy?
Tempeh is fermented soybeans.
